Magnetic Chalkboard Frame

Across the street from my parent's new house is a furniture consignment shop.  It's a problem for me.  I bought this frame there a couple of weeks ago and have been planning great things :)  I decided on a chalkboard-magneticboard.  Or a magnetic chalkboard.

At first I painted over the art that was in the frame.  Then it began to wilt.  Problem #1.  So I removed that piece and then just painted the frame using Krylon Pistachio.  However, I first painted the inside frame using a creme white color.

I honestly didn't know if this stuff existed but it does!  I bought some at the Super Walmart near my home.  Kind of expensive stuff though, but you do get a lot.  I also used Krylon's Chalkboard spraypaint after applying this stuff onto a piece of wood I got cut for the inside of the frame.
**Final disclosure though: this stuff didn't work as well as I wanted it too.  In truth, it is magnetic, but not that strong...I'm super disappointed about that one, I'm hoping that it was more of a malpractice error rather than a malfunction error.  I really want this paint to work!!  I will try others and get back to you...but for now my magnetic chalkboard is sadly just a chalkboard.  Man, it really takes the fun out of it, huh?

Then I glazed the surface of the frame with some cheap-o glaze I found at True Value.  Big tub too.

Annnnnnnndddddd here is the lovely finished project!!

 Love the detail as always..

****And again, I decided to sell this one on my Etsy shop so click on over to my listing if you love this frame as much as I do!****

I also linked this post to http://frenchcountrycottage.blogspot.com/  and at the picket fence so check it out, and maybe you can link something up as well.
